Topographie Des Terrors

On the former site of the Gestapo and SS headquarters, the Topography of Terror confronts visitors with the machinery of Nazi persecution. The documentation centre stands beside the remains of the buildings where the regime’s central security institutions planned and carried out terror across Germany and occupied Europe. Photographs, documents and personal accounts trace the history of the Gestapo, SS and Reich Security Main Office between 1933 and 1945. The outdoor exhibition along the preserved cellar wall adds another layer, connecting the historical evidence to the physical site itself.
