The world of Belgian cartoonist Hergé comes to life at the Musée Hergé in Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium. Best known for creating Tintin, Georges Remi, known as Hergé, was also a graphic designer, illustrator and storyteller whose precise drawing style helped shape modern European comics. Opened in 2009, the museum brings together more than 80 original illustration plates, photographs, documents and personal objects. Its eight exhibition rooms follow Hergé’s artistic journey, from his early career and the development of his characters to the studios that helped him expand his work. Designed by architect Christian de Portzamparc, the building uses unexpected angles, colour and light to reflect the imagination behind Hergé’s creations.
