Mémorial 1815

The Mémorial 1815 at the former battlefield of Waterloo tells the story of the Battle of Waterloo and the campaign that led to Napoleon’s final defeat on 18 June 1815. Built beneath the battlefield, the museum combines historical objects with multimedia displays to place visitors at the centre of the events that shaped Europe. The collection includes weapons, uniforms, maps and personal objects from the armies involved. A 4D film recreates the battle, while the museum’s exhibits follow the campaign through the experiences of Napoleon, Wellington, Blücher and the soldiers who fought here. The Mémorial forms the main museum of the Domaine de la Bataille de Waterloo 1815.
