Deutsches Technikmuseum Berlin

BerlinBerlin/Germany

Deutsches Technikmuseum Berlin

A Douglas C-47 “Candy Bomber” hanging above the entrance hints at the scale of Berlin’s Deutsches Technikmuseum. Opened in 1983, the museum traces the cultural history of technology through an enormous collection covering railways, aviation, shipping, road transport, computers, communications, printing and much more. Around 4,000 objects are currently on display, from historic locomotives and aircraft to early computers and industrial machinery. The museum’s railway collection fills historic engine sheds, while its exhibitions show not just how technology developed, but how it changed everyday life and society.
