What happens when you walk through a tornado, make a cloud with your hands or stand on a platform that seems to move beneath your feet? At phaeno in Wolfsburg, science is something to experience rather than simply observe. More than 350 interactive stations invite visitors to experiment with physics, biology, technology and natural phenomena. Designed by Zaha Hadid, the building adds another layer to the experience, with enormous concrete spaces, unusual angles and a structure that appears to hover above the city. Whether you are testing gravity or making things explode, phaeno encourages curiosity through play.
