Museumsdorf Cloppenburg

Across 17 hectares, the Museumsdorf Cloppenburg brings rural life in northwestern Germany back into view. Around 60 historic buildings, including farmhouses, workers’ cottages, mills, workshops, a church and a village school, form a walkable open-air museum spanning centuries of everyday life. The buildings are furnished and surrounded by historically maintained gardens, fields and livestock. Working crafts and traditional activities bring the village to life, while exhibitions add newer chapters to the story, including youth culture from the 1980s.
