A bolt of lightning crackles indoors at the Museum of Science in Boston, where scientific ideas become hands-on experiences. In the historic Theater of Electricity, live demonstrations reveal the power of electrical energy, while interactive exhibits invite visitors to experiment with everything from robotics and artificial intelligence to the human body and the natural world. Located at Science Park beside the Charles River, the museum grew from the Boston Society of Natural History, founded in 1830. Today, its attractions include the Charles Hayden Planetarium, where immersive shows explore the universe, and displays featuring dinosaur fossils, live animals and engineering challenges. The museum makes science something to test, question and experience rather than simply read about.
