Den HaagZuid-Holland/Netherlands

The Valk Windmill Museum is an impressive tower mill dating from 1743, which towers high above Leiden’s city center. It is one of the few places in the Netherlands where you can experience a windmill in all its glory: from the authentic living quarters of the miller’s family on the lower floors to the enormous millstones and the imposing wooden gear mechanism at the top. The mill is still operational and tells the story of the craft, the technology, and the miller’s daily life throughout the centuries.
