Belasting & Douane Museum

The Tax & Customs Museum takes you on a journey of discovery through the history of taxation and customs in the Netherlands. Housed in two beautiful historic buildings in the historic Scheepvaartkwartier, the museum shows how people used to pay taxes (from salt to money) and how Customs tracks down contraband today. It’s a place where complex topics are explained in an accessible, often playful way for visitors of all ages.
