HellevoetsluisZuid-Holland/Netherlands

The National Firefighting Museum in Hellevoetsluis is housed in two former naval barracks on the grounds of the historic fortifications. The museum houses an enormous collection that chronicles the history of firefighting: from Jan van der Heyden’s very first bucket brigades and hand-operated fire pumps to the gleaming steam-powered fire engines and modern crash tenders of the Air Force. It is a tribute to the fire department and a fascinating place for anyone who loves technology and history.
