Musée Gustave-Moreau

The Musée Gustave Moreau in Paris is dedicated to the life and work of French Symbolist painter Gustave Moreau. Its collection includes paintings, watercolours, drawings and sketches, many depicting mythological figures and scenes inspired by literature. Moreau helped transform his own home into a museum, which opened in 1903. The building preserves his former apartment and two large studios, connected by a striking spiral staircase. The arrangement of the artworks reflects the artist’s vision, offering an intimate look at both his imaginative paintings and the place where he worked.
