Musée Du Quai Branly

Art from Africa, Asia, Oceania and the Americas takes centre stage at the Musée du Quai Branly – Jacques Chirac in Paris. Opened in 2006 near the Eiffel Tower, the museum brings together objects that reflect the artistic traditions, beliefs and everyday lives of cultures outside Europe. Around 3,500 works are displayed from a collection of more than 360,000 objects, including masks, sculptures, textiles, jewellery and musical instruments. The collection is particularly strong in Indigenous cultures, with works presented alongside photography and historical material. Architect Jean Nouvel’s building and its surrounding garden form an important part of the experience, creating a secluded setting beside the Seine.
