Musée D'Art Moderne De Paris

Modern art fills the eastern wing of the Palais de Tokyo at the Musée d’Art Moderne de Paris. Opened in 1961, the museum focuses on art from the 20th century to the present, with a collection that reflects the many directions modern and contemporary art has taken. Paintings, sculptures, photographs and installations range from Fauvism and Cubism to Surrealism, abstraction and contemporary practices. Highlights include works by Henri Matisse, Pablo Picasso, Georges Braque, Raoul Dufy and Giorgio de Chirico. The museum also presents major temporary exhibitions, while its spacious galleries make room for both large installations and more intimate works.
