Den HaagZuid-Holland/Netherlands

The Prince William V Gallery is the oldest public museum in the Netherlands. In 1774, Prince William V had this hall built to display his impressive collection of paintings to the public. The gallery has recently been restored to its former glory: the walls are once again hung from floor to ceiling with masterpieces, exactly as the prince intended at the time. With its magnificent chandeliers, silk wall hangings, and opulent ornamentation, the space exudes the atmosphere of a royal palace.
