The BMW Museum in Munich traces the history of BMW and its vehicles, from the company’s early aircraft engines to modern cars and motorcycles. Opened in 1973 beside BMW’s headquarters and expanded in 2008, the museum is housed in the distinctive “salad bowl” building designed by architect Karl Schwanzer. Its collection includes historic automobiles, motorcycles and engines, alongside concept vehicles and examples of BMW’s design and engineering. Exhibitions explore the development of the company, iconic models and changing approaches to mobility, while the museum’s architecture and circular exhibition spaces form part of the experience.
