Australian National Maritime Museum

Sydney’s relationship with the sea is at the heart of the Australian National Maritime Museum, set on the waterfront at Darling Harbour. The museum explores Australia’s maritime history through ships, boats, navigation, migration, exploration and the many ways people have lived and worked on the water. The collection includes everything from historic vessels and naval craft to surfboards, photographs and objects connected to life at sea. Several vessels can be explored in the harbour, including the replica of Captain Cook’s HMB Endeavour, while the galleries look at subjects ranging from First Nations connections to the sea and immigration to Australia’s naval and maritime industries.
