FriedrichshafenBaden-Württemberg/Germany

The age of the great airships comes to life inside Friedrichshafen’s former harbour railway station. The Zeppelin Museum holds the world’s most important collection on the history and technology of airship travel, including a 33-metre reconstruction of the LZ 129 Hindenburg and original parts from famous Zeppelins. But the museum goes beyond aviation. A second collection traces the history of art from the Middle Ages to contemporary works, with artists including Otto Dix and Andreas Feininger. Together, the two collections explore how technology, art and society have shaped one another.
