Great MissendenEngland/United Kingdom

Step into the wonderfully strange world of Roald Dahl at this interactive museum in Great Missenden, the Buckinghamshire village where the author lived and wrote for 36 years. Opened in 2005, the museum explores the life and imagination behind books such as *Matilda*, *The BFG* and *Charlie and the Chocolate Factory*. Three hands-on galleries feature original manuscripts, personal objects, film props and costumes. The highlight is Dahl’s Writing Hut, recreated inside the museum with the unusual objects he kept nearby while working. Activities, storytelling and creative workshops invite visitors to discover how everyday experiences can spark extraordinary stories.
