A Tudor-era manor house in Tottenham holds the stories of the people and communities who shaped north London. Bruce Castle Museum explores the history of Haringey through local photographs, historic documents, clothing, art and objects from everyday life. The building itself has a long history, with its oldest surviving parts dating to the 16th century. One of its distinctive collections traces the history of the British postal service, linked to former resident Rowland Hill, who helped introduce the Penny Post. The museum also preserves the borough’s archives, connecting family histories and neighbourhood changes with the wider story of London.
