The Cromwell Museum

Oliver Cromwell went to school in the very building that now houses the Cromwell Museum in Huntingdon, England. The historic former grammar school explores his journey from local student to military commander and Lord Protector during one of the most turbulent periods in British history. The collection includes portraits, personal belongings, weapons, clothing and documents connected to Cromwell and the English Civil War. Among the objects on display are his hat and several swords. Rather than simply celebrating or condemning Cromwell, the museum presents different interpretations of his life and legacy, leaving visitors to draw their own conclusions.
