Princeton University Art Museum

The Princeton University Art Museum has collected art since 1755 and now holds more than 117,000 works spanning over 5,000 years, from ancient objects to contemporary art. Its global collection includes Asian art, European paintings, photography, African art and art of the ancient Americas, offering perspectives on how different cultures have expressed their ideas and beliefs. Reopened in a striking new building in October 2025, the museum combines galleries with spaces for teaching, conservation and hands-on learning. Nine interconnected architectural pavilions and two public artwalks make the building part of the experience, bringing art into the heart of Princeton University’s historic campus.
