The original handwritten Laws of the Game from 1863 reveal how football began to take shape as an organised sport. They are among the standout objects at the National Football Museum in Manchester, where the history of the game is told through the objects, people and moments that changed it. Housed in the striking Urbis building since 2012, the museum holds a collection of more than 40,000 football-related objects and archives. Alongside historic trophies, shirts and memorabilia, visitors can test their skills with interactive football challenges and discover stories from the men’s and women’s game. Its Hall of Fame celebrates players, managers and pioneers whose influence extends beyond the pitch.
