Hever Castle in Kent, England, is a historic castle best known as the childhood home of Anne Boleyn, the second wife of Henry VIII. Its rooms display Tudor portraits, period furniture, tapestries and historical objects, including books associated with Anne Boleyn. Dating from the 13th century, the castle was later adapted into a Tudor family home. In the early 20th century, William Waldorf Astor restored the building and developed its extensive gardens, including an Italian Garden filled with classical sculptures, a rose garden, a lake and mazes. Together, the castle and grounds offer a glimpse into Tudor history and the later Edwardian vision of a country estate.
