Frilandsmuseet

Frilandsmuseet, the Open Air Museum, is one of the world’s largest and oldest open-air museums, located north of Copenhagen. Part of the National Museum of Denmark, it preserves historic rural buildings from across the country, showing how people lived and worked from the 17th century to the early 20th century. Visitors can walk through farms, houses, mills and workshops surrounded by historic landscapes, gardens and livestock. Many of the buildings were moved to the museum from their original locations and furnished with period objects, creating a picture of everyday life in Denmark before industrialisation transformed the countryside.
