Cincinnati Fire Museum

Before sirens and modern fire engines, Cincinnati firefighters battled flames with hand-pumped equipment, horse-drawn wagons and plenty of muscle. The Cincinnati Fire Museum tells that story from inside a restored 1907 firehouse, one of the city’s oldest surviving firehouses. Historic engines, uniforms, helmets, tools and firefighting equipment show how the profession has changed over more than two centuries. Visitors can also explore the daily life of firefighters and learn about Cincinnati’s history of fires, prevention and emergency response, with hands-on elements making the museum particularly engaging for younger visitors.
