A Brontosaurus rises beneath a 110-foot mural of prehistoric life at the Yale Peabody Museum in New Haven, Connecticut. *The Age of Reptiles*, painted by Yale artist Rudolph Zallinger, stretches across the dinosaur hall, turning the room into a sweeping vision of life millions of years ago. But the story extends far beyond dinosaurs. Fossils, minerals and cultural objects reveal the changing history of Earth and its inhabitants, including the cultures of the Pacific. Founded in 1866, the museum reopened in 2024 after a major renovation and now offers free admission.
