Skagens Museum in Skagen, Denmark, is dedicated to the artists who formed the Skagen Artists’ Colony in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Painters from Denmark and abroad were drawn to the town’s distinctive light, landscapes and coastal life, developing a style that combined naturalism with elements of modern art. The museum’s collection includes more than 1,900 works, with paintings by P.S. Krøyer, Anna Ancher, Michael Ancher, Laurits Tuxen and other artists of the colony. The museum complex also includes the historic homes of Michael and Anna Ancher and P.S. Krøyer, offering a glimpse into the lives and working environments of the artists.
