Queensland Museum

From ancient fossils to the history of Queensland itself, the Queensland Museum tells stories about the natural world, science and the people of the state. Based at Brisbane’s South Bank, it has been collecting specimens and objects since 1862, building one of Australia’s major natural and cultural history collections. Dinosaurs, megafauna, marine life and Queensland’s unique wildlife feature alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, military history and everyday life. The museum is also home to the Queensland Sciencentre, where hands-on exhibits turn subjects such as physics, technology and biology into something visitors can experiment with themselves.
