The Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice is housed in Palazzo Venier dei Leoni, Peggy Guggenheim’s former home on the Grand Canal. One of Europe’s leading museums of modern art, it presents the personal collection she assembled while living in Venice from 1949 until her death in 1979. The collection focuses on European and American modernism, with works by Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dalí, René Magritte, Jackson Pollock, Wassily Kandinsky and Joan Miró. Visitors can explore the galleries and sculpture garden, where Guggenheim’s collection is displayed alongside temporary exhibitions and works from the museum’s archives.
