Museum And Art Gallery Of The Northern Territory

A cyclone, a crocodile and some of Australia’s most important Aboriginal art all have a place at MAGNT. The Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory in Darwin brings together the natural, cultural and artistic history of the Top End and the wider Northern Territory. Its collections include Aboriginal paintings and objects, Southeast Asian and Pacific art, maritime archaeology, natural history specimens and contemporary works. One of its most famous objects is Sweetheart, a 5.1-metre saltwater crocodile, while the museum’s Cyclone Tracy exhibition tells the story of the devastating 1974 storm through photographs, recordings and recovered objects.
