OostendeWest-Vlaanderen/Belgium
Mu.ZEE in Ostend is Belgium’s museum for Belgian art from 1830 to the present day. Housed in a former department store near the city centre, the museum brings together works that reflect Belgium’s changing artistic landscape, with a particular connection to Ostend and the Belgian coast. The collection includes paintings, sculptures, drawings, photography and other works by artists such as James Ensor, Constant Permeke, Léon Spilliaert and René Magritte. Alongside its collection displays, Mu.ZEE presents changing exhibitions that place Belgian art in historical and contemporary contexts.
