Kunsthalle Wien has no permanent collection to browse. Instead, it builds its identity around exhibitions that question how contemporary art responds to the world around us. Artists are invited to develop new work, while exhibitions bring together different media, perspectives and ideas. Its main venue occupies the former Winter Riding Hall in Vienna’s MuseumsQuartier, where historic architecture meets a modern exhibition space. A second location at Karlsplatz extends the programme beyond the museum district, making Kunsthalle Wien a platform for contemporary art, public discussion and experimentation.
