Kirchner Museum Davos

The Kirchner Museum Davos is dedicated to Ernst Ludwig Kirchner, a founding member of the German Expressionist group Die Brücke. Kirchner moved to Davos in 1917 and remained there until his death in 1938, producing paintings, drawings, prints and sculptures shaped by the Alpine landscape and life around him. The museum opened in 1992 in a building designed by Gigon/Guyer. Its collection contains more than 10,000 works and documents from Kirchner’s career, including paintings, graphic works, sculptures, photographs and personal objects. The museum also presents changing exhibitions that place Kirchner’s work alongside other artists and explore themes connected to Expressionism and modern art.
