The International Maritime Museum Hamburg traces more than 3,000 years of maritime history through the private collection of Peter Tamm. Housed in the historic Kaispeicher B, Hamburg’s oldest surviving warehouse, the museum opened in 2008 and presents its collection across nine floors overlooking the Speicherstadt. More than 40,000 objects and one million photographs cover shipbuilding, navigation, exploration, trade and naval history. Highlights include thousands of ship models, historic navigation instruments, paintings, uniforms and maritime documents, with displays ranging from ancient vessels to modern container shipping.
